Ed D. White, 65, of Burlington, died at 11:35 AM Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at his home.

 

Born February 11, 1951, in Burlington, IA, he was the son of Oscar “O.D.” and Irene Ida Nelson White.

 

Survivors include one daughter, Tami (John) Gerber of Burlington; three granddaughters, Elizabeth, Rian, Ellie; and one grandson, Gavin.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.

 

There will be no formal visitation or services.

 

Interment will be held at Aspen Grove Cemetery on the family plot at a later date.

 

Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home & Crematory is in care of the arrangements.

Mary Ann Strausbaugh, 66, of LaHarpe, IL passed away at 6:01 PM Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Roseville Rehabilitation and Health Care, Roseville, IL where she had resided the past 3 ½ years.

 

She was born on February 2, 1950 in LaHarpe, the daughter of Carl W. and Mildred Sell Strausbaugh.

 

Mary Ann was a graduate of the Carthage High School. She was a lifelong resident of LaHarpe. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and crafts.

 

Mary Ann is survived by two nephews, Kevin Strausbaugh of Burlington, IA, Bill Strausbaugh, one niece, Heather Cassidy of Alaska, several great and great-great nieces and nephews, one aunt, Mary Armstrong of Chillicothe, IL and numerous cousins.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Linda Strausbaugh, three brothers R.A., Gary, Carl Strausbaugh Jr., and her significant other, Odie Downs.

 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 1, 2016 in the LaHarpe Cemetery, with Rev. Rick Goettsche officiating. Prior to the service family and friends are welcome to gather at the Union Church in LaHarpe at 1:00 PM for coffee and snacks. Lillian Martha Crabill, 93, of LaHarpe, IL passed away at 9:35 PM Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Great River Hospice House, West Burlington, IA. Lillian was born on July 18, 1922 in the Durham Township, the daughter of Henry Wilson and Frances “Flossie” Melvin Reed. On March 14, 1945 she married William Crabill. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2012.

 

Lillian lived most of her life in the LaHarpe area, with the exception of a few months in Santa Fe, NM during her husband Bill’s assignment at Los Alamos. She was a 1941 graduate of the LaHarpe High School and a 1944 graduate of the Burlington Protestant Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse for many years at the LaHarpe Davier Hospital. During this time she also helped her husband administer their two Crabill Shelter Care Homes.

 

She was a faithfull member of the LaHarpe Christian Church her entire life, and served there in many capacities over the years. Her love of the Lord, her family and many friends were central in her life. Lillian was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Hasted Sunny Seniors, and the LaHarpe Senior Citizens. She enjoyed helping with the Share Food Program.

 

Survivors include five children: Dick Crabill of Joplin, MO, Bonnie (Alan) Stewart, of LaHarpe, Cathy (Reinhard) Bergmann of Carthage, IL, Becky Crabill of Carthge, and Dian (Becky) Crabill of Springfield, IL; grandchildren: Mark and Matt Crabill, Meri Rodgers, Shannon and Shawn Stewart, Ryan and Eric Bergmann and Sadie Crabill; 17 great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren and six step great-great-grandchildren; one sister JoAnne Greenman of Crystal Lake, IL.

 

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill, Stillborn son, Howard Robert, three brothers, Harold, James and Lewis Reed, and a daughter-in-law, Linda Crabill.

 

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the LaHarpe Christian Church with Nate McCarter officiating. Burial will follow in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 PM Friday at the Christian Church where the family will greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00. A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe Christian Church, The Great River Hospice House, or donor’s choice. Banks & Beals Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Sanchia D. Gahn, 86, Edina, MN formerly of West Burlington died Mon 3/21 at the Heritage of Edina Tiffany Hospice.

She is survived by 2 sons, Kim of West Burlington and Matthew of Eveleth, MN, 3 daughters, Sanchia Snyder of Scarborough, ME, Andrea Gahn of Bloomington, MN and Kathryn Peterson of New Hope, MN, 8 sisters, Sister Mary Lucia Jean “Gloria” Lietsch of Chicago, Patricia Darnold, Rosemary Harris and Judy Heap of West Burlington, Mary Rincon of Florida, Mickey Daly, Lucia Lietsch and Sheila Drew of Burlington, a brother Tommy Lietsch of Burlington, 17 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at SS Mary and Patrick Catholic Church at 1030 Tue 3/29 with burial at the St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Friends May call from noon to 7PM Mon 3/28 with the family receiving friends from 5-7 at Lunning Chapel.
