Obituaries Saturday January 27th

Monty Schnedler, 69, of Burlington, died at 1:55 am Friday, January 26, 2018, at his residence in Burlington.

Born April 7, 1948, in Burlington, he was the son of Caroll and Henrietta Poisel Schnedler. On August 12, 1972, he married Noreda Shepherd in Asbury Church in Burlington.

He worked at GE as an electrical tester for 17 years.

He graduated from Burlington High School.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.

He was a member of Spring Grove Methodist Church. Monty loved hunting, fishing, watching the birds and being outdoors. He would say that his favorite daughter was whichever one was there at the time, but he loved them both very much. He enjoyed spending time with all his grandkids, tinkering, and mowing the grass. He also liked to watch the Hawkeyes, and listen to the Cardinals and Bees games.

Survivors include his wife, Noreda Schnedler; two daughters, Stormy (Jim) Hopp and Heather (Kevin) Wellman; six grandchildren, Dakota (Liz), Braxton, Xander, Avery, Natalie and Oliver; one sister, Judy (Lynn) Funk; one sister-in-law, Linda Schnedler; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Denny and Jim, one grandson, Grady; and one nephew John.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.

The Memorial Celebration will be from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM with the family to receive friends and food to be served from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. Full military honors will be rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard at the conclusion of the Memorial Celebration.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Tri-State Special Kids Rodeo, and Great River Hospice.

Marianna Moore, 82, of Dallas City, IL, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center in LaHarpe, IL.

She was born on October 26, 1935 in LaPlata, MO the daughter of August and Willie Johnson Prash. On November 7, 1953 she married Ronnie Cleo Moore in Waylond, MO. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1999.

Marianna was raised and educated in LaPlata where she graduated from LaPlata High School in 1953. She was a member of the former RSVP, Dallas City Senior Citizens, and was a former Girl Scout Leader. She and her husband were avid motorcyclist and were members of the Gold Wing Road Riders Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Sherryl Moore of Dallas City and three fury feline companions. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie, and one son, Ronnie Chris Moore.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the LaPlata Cemetery, LaPlata, MO. No visitation is planned. A memorial fund has been established for the Dallas City Fire Department or Dallas City Food Pantry. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City is assisting the family.
