Joan Louise McCannon, 83, of Burlington, died at 2:03 PM Friday, March 9, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.

Born December 29, 1934, in Burlington, IA, she was the daughter of Louis Mitchell and Dorothy Marie Nielson Pence. On October 23, 1958, she married Lloyd “Augie” McCannon in Burlington, Iowa. He died on February 24, 1993.

Joan was a homemaker and worked in production at Mississippi Bakery for twelve years.

She was a die hard Cubs fan, Hawkeye fan, loved karaoke, going to the garage, and her cat Smoak.

Survivors include two sons, Terry McCannon and Kevin (Cindy) McCannon both of Burlington; one daughter, Cindy (Steve) Robinson of Burlington; five grandchildren, DeAnn, Marcus, Trent, Chad, Melissa, and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Ginger of Quincy, IL.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Debbie Casady, and one granddaughter, Angelia Warf.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. McCannon will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Eagles Club.

Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.

Mr. Edward E. Lionberger, 69, of rural Dallas City, IL passed away at 11:15 PM Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, IA.
He was born November 4, 1948 in LaHarpe, IL, the son of Jesse Ralph and Bertha Johnson Lionberger. On October 7, 1995 he married Debbie Bolton in Nauvoo, IL.
Ed was a 1966 graduate of the Nauvoo-Colusa High School. He then graduated from the University of Illinois in 1971 with a degree in Agricultural Engineering.
He farmed for many years in the Colusa area. Ed served as a Director of the Colusa Bank and was a member of the U of I Alumni Association. He enjoyed working on computers, fishing trips to Canada, doing carpentry work on his home and traveling. His travels included visiting Japan, the Philipines, and Hong Kong.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie, 1 daughter, Kaylyn Lionberger, 2 sons, Kevin and Kristian Lionberger, all of rural Dallas City, 2 brothers, Jess (Doris) Lionberger of Dallas City and Robert (Nancy) Lionberger of Niota and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great-niece.
Ed was preceded in death by one son, Kollin Lionberger and his parents.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Pastor Mark Nichols officiating. Burial will be in the Harris Cemetery near Dallas City. Friends may call after 3:00 PM Monday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00PM. A memorial fund has been established for his children’s education.
