Barbara L. Hanks, 81, of Burlington, went home to be with the Lord at 12:28 AM Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at the Rose Bush Gardens in Burlington.

Born June 15, 1936, in Centerville, IA, she was the daughter of William and Gladys Lowe Horne. On July 24, 1954, she married Raymond Hanks Jr. in Burlington, IA. He died on November 12, 1997.

Barbara was a homemaker.

She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed raising her family and watching them grow over the years; especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Cathie (Todd) Sattler of Burlington, and Connie (Glenn) LaVeine of St. Peters, MO; five sons, Gregg Hanks, Joe (Denise) Hanks, Eric (Jennifer) Hanks, and Doug (Cynthia) Hanks all of Burlington, and Chris (Tina) Hanks of Palm Desert, CA; eight grandchildren, Geoff (Stephanie) LaVeine, Scott (Nikki Zwenleine) LaVeine, Britanie (Matt) Clover, Carlie (Quinton Quam) Sattler, Jacob Hanks, Lydia (Michael Messer) Hanks, Jack Hanks, and Ian Hanks; three great-grandchildren, Harper, Jackson, and Tyler; one brother, Bill (Addrienne) Horne of Tucson, AZ.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, March 30, 2018 at Oak Street Baptist Church.

The funeral service for Barbara Hanks will be 11:00 AM Friday, March 30, 2018, at Oak Street Baptist Church with Reverend Dean Graber officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the church following the service. Cremation will be entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory following the service. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date.

A memorial has been established for the Hope Haven Area Development Center.

Jane Moyer, 68, of Burlington, died at 9:38 PM Monday, March 26, 2018, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born December 31, 1949, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Elmer Leroy and Signe Alfrieda Giese Moyer.

Jane was a homemaker.

She graduated from Burlington High School in 1970.

She was a member of the Salvation Army. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, bible studies and singing at church.

Survivors include her three uncles, Bobby Moyer of Burlington, John Moyer of FL, Jim Moyer of Eugene, OR; one aunt, Mary Hurria of ID, several cousins and her special friend, Barbara Michael of Burlington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Donna Moyer.

Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Miss Moyer will be 10:00 AM Friday, March 30, 2018, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Lt. Dennis Jolly officiating. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home following the burial.

A memorial has been established to the Salvation Army.

Shirley Jean Bergman, 80, of Glasford, IL passed away at 11:10 PM Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Timbercreek Rehab & Health Center in Pekin, IL.

She was born March 11, 1938 in LaHarpe, IL, the daughter of James and Coralena E. Feikert St. Clair.

Shirley worked as a bartender in Peoria, most recently at the Cooler Tap. She later worked in the drapery department at JC Penny’s in Peoria. In her spare time she enjoyed watching movies and spending time with her family.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Debra Bitner of Peoria and Joanna Frank and Brenda Guntorius, both of Princeton, IL, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 infant brothers and 1 great-grandson.

Her family will meet with friends from 5:00 until 8:00PM Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe. Burial will be held, at later date, in the LaHarpe Cemetery.
