Eunice Faye Kemp, 78, of Sperry, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born July 15, 1944, in Rutherford, Tennessee, she was the daughter of William and Anna Lou (Fowler) Johnstone. She married Don Kemp on August 2, 1969 in Lomax, Illinois.
Faye worked for Doran and Ward Printing for 32 years.
She enjoyed puzzles, reading, watching Iowa Hawkeyes Basketball, motorcycle rides, coffee and lunches with her girls and trips to Tennessee. Her family and her dog “Sammy” were her life.
Survivors include her husband Don Kemp of Sperry; four children, Mark (Lori) Lippert of Ottawa, Illinois, Lisa (Mike) Doty of Kahoka, Missouri, Tracy Kemp of Burlington and Katherine (Matthew) Brakeville of Burlington; ten grandchildren, Callista Lippert, Tara Inmarong, Jared Doty, Justin Doty, Taylor Hartman, Taylor Brakeville, Conner Brakeville, Christopher Fenton, Zachary Fenton and Kirsten Fenton; five great grandchildren, Dathan Porter, Ani Porter, Alex Garncarz, Aria Fenton and Beckett Hartman; one brother, Mike (Karen) Johnstone of Middletown and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Terry Johnstone and sister Barbara Wicker.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 14th at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends. Graveside funeral services will follow the visitation at Carman Cemetery, Carman, Illinois.

Joan Marie Siegworth, 88, of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at The Elms in Macomb, Illinois.
Joan was born January 24, 1935 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the daughter of Harden and Phyllis (Hillier) Bell. On June 28, 1953 she married John F. Siegworth at the LaHarpe Christian Church. He preceded her in death November 20, 2020.
Joan was a graduate of LaHarpe High School. Joan worked as a Teacher’s Aide and School Secretary at the former Terre Haute Elementary School. She later worked as the LaHarpe Elementary School Secretary, retiring after a 42 year career of caring for the community’s children. She also helped her husband and son, Greg, on the farm by cooking meals and giving rides during the planting, harvest and hay seasons.
Joan was active within the community, she served as a 4-H Leader and was currently serving as President of the LaHarpe American Legion Auxiliary. She a member of the LaHarpe P.E.O., Henderson County Republican Women and the LaHarpe Christian Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
Survivors include one son: Greg (Rita) Siegworth of LaHarpe; two daughters: Cindy (Bob) Bruns of Louisville, Illinois and Lori (Jim) Smith of Pecatonica, Illinois, nine grandchildren: Elizabeth (Brad) Dixon, Lydia (Jim) Anderson, Rebekah (Ryan) Niemerg, John (Traci) Bruns, Jason (Mary Ann) Siegworth, Jennifer (Travis) Hobby, Justin (Sam) Smith, Chris (Julie) Smith and Jessie Smith and 24 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: James Bell.
The funeral service for Joan will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the LaHarpe Christian Church with Pastor Nate McCarter officiating. Burial will follow in the LaHarpe Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023 at the LaHarpe Christian Church.
A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe Christian Church or the LaHarpe American Legion Auxiliary to benefit the Veteran’s Memorial in the LaHarpe Park.

Christy Lynn Anderson , 30, of Burlington, died Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born September 6, 1992, in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Christopher Mauro and Cindy and David Anderson.
She worked for Wilson Rentals cleaning apartments and previously at Shokai Sushi.
She enjoyed spending time with her friends and hanging out on the river. She loved all the Buffalo, NY sports teams and going to Bee’s games with her father.
Survivors include her mother and father, Cindy and David Anderson of Burlington; maternal Grandmother, Patricia Duszynski of Burlington; paternal grandparents, Helen Anderson of West Seneca, NY and Nicholas Mauro of Lancaster, NY; her furbabies, Oreo and Zoey; two aunts, Shelly Duszynski of Salem, OR and Elizabeth (Katie Miller) Mauro of Hamburg, NY; two uncles, William G. Anderson, Jr. of West Seneca, NY and Mark (Debra) Duszynski of Texas; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Frederick Paul Duszynski, paternal grandmother, Donna Mauro, and paternal grandfather and step-grandmother, William G. and Myrna Anderson.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Melody Marie Maynard, 67, of Pontoosuc, Illinois, passed away peacefully and was met by her Lord with open arms at 6:30 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2023 at her home.
Melody was born March 28, 1956 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the daughter of Kenneth A. and Betty (Howe) Brewer. On February 6, 1974 she married Tom Maynard in Kahoka, Missouri.
She was a graduate of Dallas City High School. She worked for Shaeffer Pen Company in Fort Madison for over 20 years. In recent years, she worked for United States Postal Service in Niota, Illinois.
Melody enjoyed butterflies, cooking, especially cooking blackberry jelly and orange cookies for her grandchildren. Her life revolved around her husband and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband: Tom; two children: Shane (Jen) Maynard of Terre Haute, Illinois and Leysa Maynard of Niota; five grandchildren: Drew and Matt McDowell, Cody and Shelby Moss and Shane Maynard and one great-grandson: Quentin Newberry. Also surviving are five siblings: Sarah (Ken) Foxall of Macomb, Ron Brewer of LaHarpe, Donna Brewer, Kevin Brewer and Terry (Jerri) Brewer all of Dallas City and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents: Fred and Dorothy Howe and Charles and Sarah Brewer.

Marjorie “Marj” Mae Helt, 69, of Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, April 10, 2023 at Savannah Heights, Mt. Pleasant. She was born December 22, 1953 in Burlington to George and Fern Oetken Helt. She attended school at New London for one year and a special education program at Hillsboro, before later attending Hope Haven in Burlington.
She lived with her parents in New London until 1986 when she moved to Hope Haven where she also worked. In 1994 she moved to Mt. Pleasant and worked at Hon Industries and later for Heatilator. She was a resident of New London Specialty Care and the last four years at Savannah Heights.
She was a member of the New London United Methodist Church. She traveled extensively to Europe, Canada and most of the fifty states. She enjoyed swimming, games, puzzles and traveling.
Marj is survived by her brother Kenneth (Barbara) Helt of New London and niece Laura Helt of Chandler, Arizona. Her parents preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, April 14, 2023 at Elliott Chapel, New London, with Rev. John Helt and Pastor Kathleen Moore officiating. Burial will be held at Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington. Visitation will begin at 9:00 with the family greeting friends from 10:00 until the time of the service.

Dorothy Dale Jacobs, 81, of New London, died Friday, April 7, 2023 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.
The funeral service for Mrs. Jacobs will be held at 10:00 am, Aprill 22, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2727 Cliff Road, Burlington. President Ryan Sowell will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Biggsville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon April 21, at Elliott Chapel, New London, with the family receiving friends from 5 – 7 pm. A memorial has been established for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Welfare Fund.
