Patricia Ann Pitts, 72, of West Burlington, died Monday, October 2, 2023, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born October 7, 1950, in Burlington, IA, she was the daughter of Albert and Lillian R. Powell Leibli.
She enjoyed sewing, playing BINGO, bowling and spending time with family and friends. She also had a talent for quilting, and made many quilts for her family.
Survivors include her children: Michael Pitts of Burlington, IA, Annette Newton of Burlington, IA, Tammy Trickler of Burlington, IA, Jenny Stewart of Davenport, IA, Adam Lee Wunnenberg of Davenport, IA; step-daughter, Candace (Richard) Grimmett of Kentucky; siblings: Jimmy Leibli of Burlington, IA, David Leibli of Morning Sun, IA, Larry Leibli of Burlington, IA, Albert Leibli of Burlington, IA, Bill Leibli of Burlington, IA, Donna Wisener of Burlington, IA, Shirley Johnson of Burlington, IA, Sharon Young of Burlington, IA, and Kathy Wasson of Weaver, IA; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Richard and Charles, sister Bonnie, companion Harry Wunnenberg and beloved dog, Peanut.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
There will be no visitation or services.

Gregory James Boyles, 73, of Burlington, died Friday, September 29, 2023, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born June 17, 1950, in Burlington, he was the son of James B. and Shirley Jean Rawson Boyles. On July 29, 1989, he married Janice M. Schwind in the front yard of their home here in Burlington.
Greg graduated from Mediapolis High School in 1969 and following that graduated from Southeastern Community College.
He owned and operated George’s Lawn Mower for 20 years from 1986 until 2006.
Greg never let being in a wheelchair stop him from living his life to the fullest. He was always busy doing something, whether it was fishing, mowing the yard or working on various projects in his garage. Greg even learned to drive himself around using a van that was modified with hand controls. He will be fondly remembered for his ability to fix anything, including but not limited to mowers, cars, or various other machines. Greg always made himself available to lend a helping hand and dearly loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include wife of 34 years, Janice M. Boyles of Burlington; two daughters, Kenna (JR) Roth of Crawfordsville, IA and Tia (Nick Sherburne) Boyles of Hamilton, IL; three grandsons, Devlin Ramos and Bryce and Brantley Roth; two sisters, Gayle (Pat) Daly of Burlington and Linda (Jeff) Krieger of Fort Myers, FL; and many loving nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Friday, October 6, 2023 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.

Jean Percilla Tweed, 76, of New London, formerly of Mt. Pleasant and North Liberty, died Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Henry County Health Center Emergency Department. She was born November 24, 1946 in Middletown, Connecticut to Russell and Elinor Baker Capen. On May 28, 1967 she married Charles Ullum Tweed in Middletown. He died November 5, 2021.
She was a member of the Congregational Universalist Church in Mt. Pleasant where her husband served as Minister. Jean received her BA from Grinnell College and worked as a caregiver, was a homemaker, and also loved working at the Harlan House in Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed reading and writing poetry, all genres of music especially classical, loved to paint, enjoyed the outdoors, whether camping or in the mountains, most especially the Grand Tetons. She loved time spent with her daughters and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter Heather (Bill) Schlarbaum of New London; four grandchildren, Hunter, Angelica, Joshua, and Caleb; one sister Marion Engstrom of Delaware; and her niece Laura and nephew Eric. She was preceded in death by her husband, and her daughter Ellise Capen Tweed on July 19, 2022. According to her wishes, her body has been cremated and a private graveside service will be held at a later date where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband and daughter. Rickey Allan Bohnenkamp, age 70, of Lomax, IL has now taken the final journey, on September 27, 2023.
Born on March 16, 1953, in Keokuk, IA, he was the son of George and May Bohnenkamp. Rickey was the youngest of five children. Rickey’s first home was on a dairy farm near Argyle, IA. The farm failed after the dairy herd had to be put down due to wasting disease. His family sold the dairy and moved West to California. His parents later divorced in 1957.
During his youth, Rickey and his mother moved frequently, living as apartment dwellers, and he attended eight public schools before finally attending Brea-Olinda Unified High School, graduating in June 1971.
Rickey started earning wages at nine years of age, doing yard work, collecting pop bottles and washing cars for folks. His first actual paycheck came from T,G&Y Department Store in Fullerton, CA. Rickey later worked his way through High School at Lucky Markets, first as a box boy, then later advanced as a journeyman produce clerk after completing his apprenticeship at age 18. Rickey worked a short period at Eagle Market, then was soon hired on at J.I. Case Company in Burlington, IA. After working as a weldment cleaner for a year, Rickey enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Hull Maintenance Technician. Rickey served on the USS Mobile and the USS Dixon during the Vietnam War. After completing a four year hitch, he returned to work at J.I. Case Company.
Rickey served as union Steward for the local UAW for several years. He became a journeyman millwright before retiring in 2003.
He produced a video to help families that experience head injury, titled WHAT HAPPENS NEXT. He did this due to the lack of information following his daughter Emily’s head injury in a motor vehicle accident.
Rickey taught himself and became a master craftsman at building strip canoes. Rickey collected guns and loved to target shoot. He would buy old guns, refurbish them and resell them. Some of Rickey’s favorite activities included travel, motorcycling, mechanics, small boat building, and practical jokes.
Rickey married Lori Ruberg on Friday, the 13th of June 1980. Since then, they have resided in Lomax, IL and grew a family with their three daughters, Corina, Emily and Elizabeth.
Rickey was preceded in death by his mother, May Bohnenkamp, father ,George Bohnenkamp, one sister, Sandra Henriksen, two brothers, Mark Bohnenkamp and Gary Bohnenkamp, Sr., and two daughters, Corina Bohnenkamp and Elizabeth Bohnenkamp.
The funeral service for Rickey Allan Bohnenkamp will be on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street, Burlington with the Rev. Larry Van Gundy as officiant.
A memorial fund in Rickey’s honor is established for the River Bend Food Bank, 4010 Kimmel Dr, Davenport, IA 52802.

Paul U. Walz, 90, of Burlington, died Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice in West Burlington.
Born July 21, 1933, in Burlington, he was the son of Carl and Rosetta Moehn Walz. In 1954, he married Suzanne Crane in Bellville, Illinois. On September 2, 1977, he married Doris J. McColloch Hellenthal in West Burlington.
Paul worked for five years for the Des Moines County Sheriff Department and four and half years for Burlington Police Department. Before retiring in 1991, after 26 years of service with the Burlington School District as school bus transportation director.
He was a 1953 graduate of Burlington High School.
He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran with the rank of Airman First Class, serving during the Korean War from 1953 until 1957.
He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish and the Moose Lodge #579. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, dancing and volunteering.
Survivors include his wife, Doris J. Walz of West Burlington; two sons, Brian Walz of Elburn, IL and David Walz of Johnsburg, IL; three daughters, Melissa Boldebuck of Van Buren, AR, Theresa Castro of Brookfield, IL and Mary Lluhi of Mount Dora, FL; one step-son, Nick Hellenthal of Cedar Falls, IA; 10 grandchildren, Jonathan, Ryan Paul, Giancarlo, Brent, Ryan Matthew, Erin, Victoria, Sara, Emilie, and Adriana; six great grandchildren, Nathan, Naomi, Delphina, Keira, Jaeden, and Arabella and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Joseph, one sister, Rosemary Freedman, one grandson, Scott David Walz and one son-in-law, Craig Boldebuck.
Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends until 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street, Burlington.
The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection for Paul Walz will be 10:00 AM Thursday, October 5, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Full military honors will be rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh Funeral Service following burial.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for St. Vincent de Paul Society.
