Ronald L. “Ronnie” Morgan, 81, of Bettendorf, formerly of Burlington, died at 5:42 PM Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at the Crestridge Care Center in Maquoketa.
Born June 7, 1936, in Monmouth, IL, he was the son of Ernest A and Norma L Parris Morgan. On March 11, 1956, he married Norma L. Hunger in Burlington. She died June 10, 2012.
Ronnie worked and owned Conoco Service Station in Burlington, he later worked and retired from both Skeriks Auto Parts in Burlington and Exide Battery in Davenport.
He graduated June 8th, 1954 from Burlington High School.
He enjoyed watching and operated the Push Truck safety equipment at 34 Raceway. He also enjoyed camping, riding his tractor and tinkering in his shop.
Survivors include one daughter, Mindy (Jess) Waldron of Bettendorf; one son, Jerry Morgan of TX; two grandchildren, Danielle, and Alex; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Tom, one sister Joan Crippen, two nieces and one nephew.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with the family to receive friends Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The memorial service for Ronald and Norma Morgan will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the National Parkinson Foundation.

Norma Lee Morgan , 75, of Haines City, FL formerly of Burlington and Davenport, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at the Tampa General Hospital in Tampa FL.
Born February 17, 1937, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Gerald and Margaret Hunger. On March 11, 1956, she married Ronald Lee Morgan in Burlington.
Norma worked for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for many years and later retired.
She was a 1955 graduate of Burlington High School.
She was the Past-President of the Eastern Star, a member of Telephone Pioneer and a score keeper at 34 Raceway. She enjoyed camping, reading mystery books, going to the Casino Boat and was an avid fan of the Cardinals and the Dodgers.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Lee Morgan; one son, Jerry Morgan of TX; one daughter, Mindy (Jess) Waldron of Bettendorf; two grandchildren, Danielle and Alex; one sister, Sherry Hunter of OR, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two nieces, and one nephew.

Dorothy D. Mapes , 67, of Burlington, died at 12:06 am Friday, August 25, 2017, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born November 12, 1949, in Fort Campbell, KY, she was the daughter of Lloyd Thomas and Dorothy Lee Truitt Mapes.
Dorothy was a parking enforcement officer for the City of Burlington for 27 years retiring in 2011.
She was a 1967 graduate of Burlington High School
She was a member of Community of Christ. She played softball for over 25 years, and liked fishing, being outdoors, and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include two brothers, Thomas Mapes of Medina, TN, James Mapes of Murphysboro, TN; one aunt, Marion Torrenga of Homewood, IL; and her good friend, Alice Mae Foster of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Dorothy has donated her body to the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine for medical research.
There will be no visitation or services.
A memorial has been established for the Community of Christ Church.

Wendy Lynn Wolfe, 44, of Ankeny and formerly New London, died Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in Ankeny.
The funeral service for Mrs. Wendy Wolfe will be Monday, August 28, at 11:00 AM at Elliott Chapel, New London. Visitation will begin at 9:00 with the family present to greet friends one hour prior to the service. Cremation will be accorded following the service with inurnment at a later date at Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
