Dr. Kenneth Ross Rayner, 91, of New London, died Monday, April 16th at his home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, April 27th at Lone Tree Cemetery in Lone Tree. Pastor Rod Cooper will officiate. Immediately following the service the family will greet friends at a luncheon at the American Legion adjacent to the cemetery. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice, West Burlington. Elliott Chapel, New London is assisting the family with arrangements.
Wanda Schmicker Walker, 93, of Burlington, died at 4:30 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at Great River Hospice House.
Born on February 9, 1925 she was the daughter of Arthur and Marie (Mumme) Schmicker. She married Delbert Walker on June 21, 1949 in Burlington, IA.
Wanda was a bookkeeper and office manager for Aspen Grove Cemetery and C&E. She graduated from Burlington High School, was a member of St. Luke United Church of Christ and served on the Memorial Committee. She enjoyed picture painting and gardening. She loved flowers, dancing and her animals.
Survivors include her husband, Delbert and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts and uncles.
The memorial service for Mrs. Walker will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 24th at Lunning Chapel. Pastor Hannah Ryan will officiate. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Cremation has been accorded.
A memorial has been established for St. Luke United Church of Christ.
