Bonnie Coleen Garmoe, 65, of Burlington died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born June 12, 1952 in LaHarpe, Illinois she was the daughter of Robert L. and Betty Jane (Reynolds) Kemp. She married Lyle Garmoe on February 22, 1975 in Stronghurst, Illinois.
Bonne was an amazing cook and enjoyed catering and food preparation for various meals, gatherings and BINGO. Her chocolate chip cookies were the best that can be made, along with her “welfare pizzas”. She loved being with her family and numerous friends. She was very generous with her time and talents and was known for her one of a kind personality and opinionated nature. Her favorite times were spent watching scary movies, scrolling through Facebook and enjoying Napoli pizza.
She is missed greatly by her husband Lyle Garmoe of Burlington; son Jamey (Jeana) Vancil of Charlotte, NC; daughter Laci (Corey) Ryan of Burlington; three grandchildren, Mariah, Mackenzy and Alisa; great grandson Raiden Thomas; four brothers, Terry (Linda Hanson) Kemp of Burlington, Don (Faye) Kemp of Sperry, Mike (Penny) Kemp of Burlington and Bob (Eneida) Kemp of Temple, TX; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Judy Asher of Wapello; half brother-in-law Orval Kerwood of Port Charlotte, FL and her Yorkie “Tutti”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one child, one grandchild and half-sister Donna Lewis.
The funeral service for Bonnie will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 23rd at Lunning Chapel. The Rev. David Plooster will officiate. Interment will be held in Carman Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 24th at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends.

James Lee Moore, 91 of rural Blandinsville, Illinois, passed away at 2:37 a.m. Wednesday April 18, 2018 at Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab in Stronghurst. He was born April 27, 1926 in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of Harvey and Bertha Rosen Moore.
Mr. Moore was a army veteran of the Korean War. After his military service he farmed all of his life in Henderson County. He enjoyed history, tractors, steam engines, and attending the Old Threshers Reunion in Mount Pleasant, Iowa and the Western Illinois Threshers in Hamilton, Illinois. He also enjoyed hosting the annual Raritan Fireworks display on his farmland. He was a member of the LaHarpe American Legion.
Survivors include one brother, Lewis (Karen) Moore of Blandinsville, one sister-in-law, Margaret Moore of Normal, IL, one nephew, Lewis Lee (Mindy) Moore of Blandinsville, three nieces, Deborah Moore of Bloomington, IL, Kathy Moore of Normal, IL, Lynne Anne Moore of Ashburn VA, two great nephews, Austin Moore and Jackson Moore, and two great nieces, Maria Moore and Mazie Moore. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey, John, and Robert Moore.
The funeral service for Mr. Moore will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday April 23, 2018 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. Burial with military rites will be in the Raritan Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at Banks & Beals. A memorial fund has been established for the Raritan Fire Department First Responders.
