Karen Beth Pottorff, 65, died at University Hospital in Iowa City, IA, April 24, 2018.
Born in Ft. Madison, IA, September 18, 1952. She was the daughter of Delbert G. and Waunetta F. Pottorff.
Karen worked at Sickels in Burlington for 15 years. She loved to cook, do crewel needlework, watch PBS miniseries and to go for walks in Crapo Park around Lake Starker. She loved to grow flowers, especially snap dragons.
She is survived by her sister, Kathy Pottorff, and brother Brian Pottorff. Karen and her sister Kathy were always together, rarely seeing one without the other. She will also be missed by her cats.
The body has been cremated, no funeral services.
She will be buried in Aspen Grove at a later date.

Clair William Gillaspie, 82, of Burlington, died at 4:45 AM Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the Blair House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Burlington.
Born August 25, 1935, in Gulfport, IL, he was the son of Clair Francis and Sylvia Huss Gillaspie.
He worked at Noelke-Lyon Manufacturing for 17 years as well as at the Arion Restaurant for 15 years.
He loved nice weather. He enjoyed riding his bike, sitting in the sun and mowing the lawn. He liked to walk around the nursing home and meet new people. He was a people person and loved to laugh.
Survivors include one brother, Paul E (Pam Winkler) Gillaspie of Galesburg, IL; one sister, Donna Olson of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Johnson and Janet Abney.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
A memorial service for Mr. Gillaspie will be Monday, April 30, at 2:00 PM at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Graber Officiating.
Private graveside will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Great River Hospice House.
