Eva Mae Weber, age 84, of Mediapolis and formerly of Winfield, died suddenly Thursday evening, April 26, 2018, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. She was the daughter of Glen and Geneva Ashley Lundeen and was born on August 30, 1933 in Rio, Illinois. Eva graduated from Galesburg High School in 1951. She married Harold Joseph Weber on August 2, 1952 in Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2016.
Eva had worked for F. W. Woolworth in Chicago when she met Harold before they moved to Winfield. She later worked at the Ordnance Plant at Burlington and then as the Secretary for the Superintendent and School Board with the Winfield Community Schools for over 20 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield and after moving to Mediapolis in 2008 she attended the First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the I.O.O.F. Auxiliary in Winfield and the WMU Retired School Personnel.
She thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and also the Chicago CUBS and other sports.
Her family includes three children, Dan & Carla Weber of Mediapolis, Mike Weber & Lucinda Boese of Mt. Pleasant, and Sue & Rod Fisher of Wapello; eight grandchildren, Jason & Leslie Weber of Seattle, Washington, Cara & Trey Hammond of Ocala, Florida, Brian & Laci Weber of Silvis, Illinois, Bethany & Trent Hepler of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Matthew Weber of Chicago, Clayton Weber of Chicago, Ashley & Alex Bartenhagen of Wapello, and Emily Fisher of Burlington; eleven great grandchildren, Danica, Jackson, Lillian, Kellen, Mara, Lyla, Brycen, Lexton, Ziah, Jackson, and Madison; three sisters, Anna Steck of Galesburg, Joyce & Bill Renour of Atkinson, Illinois, and Judy Rylander of Oneida, Illinois; a brother, Fred & Pauline Lundeen of Jupiter, Florida; a brother-in-law, Ed Weber of Pembroke Pines, Florida; and several nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; a brother, George Lundeen; and a sister, Dorothy Pitman.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis where the family will meet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
The funeral ceremony for Eva Weber will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Mediapolis with Rev. Bruce Smith officiating. Following a lunch gathering at the church, the burial will be at the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery in Winfield.
Memorial gifts will benefit the Winfield-Mt. Union Community School Library.
